The Nike Dunk High SE ‘University Red’ is taken from the ‘First Use Pack,’ a special anniversary collection celebrating 50 years of the Nike Swoosh.
Doubled-up laces in red and white secure the crimson leather upper, fortified with tonal suede overlays and accented with a white leather Swoosh on the medial side.
The lateral side is decorated with an outlined retro Swoosh, captioned with the phrase ‘First use June 18, 1971.’
Additional branding elements include a gold Swoosh-shaped lace jewel and a woven tongue tag with a standard Nike logo on the exterior.
An inscription on the interior side reads: ‘For the 50th anniversary of the Swoosh we celebrate the detail and craft of its humble beginnings.’
The company was founded on January 25, 1964, as Blue Ribbon Sports, by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, and officially became Nike, Inc. on May 30, 1971. The company takes its name from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. Nike markets its products under its own brand, as well as Nike Golf, Nike Pro, Nike+, Air Jordan, Nike Blazers, Air Force 1, Nike Dunk, Air Max, Foamposite, Nike Skateboarding, Nike CR7, and subsidiaries including Brand Jordan, Hurley International and Converse.
