Each version of the sneaker would feature colorways matching the colors of a respective school. Although sports fans may have been the first to follow the rise of the Nike Dunk, things didn't stop there. As future versions of the shoe hit the footwear scene, the Dunk gained visibility as a general lifestyle shoe and one that appealed to niche crowds such as skaters. Hybrid, Skate, and Boot models are just a few of the kinds of Dunks available for collectors or enthusiasts. The company kept the Dunk High in the Nike vault for a decade after releasing original colorways for various universities. However, the absence of the shoe did little to slow its growing popularity, and the 1998 reissue of the retro Dunk High saw higher demand than ever. Some of the company's most popular and enduring Dunk sneakers include the Nike Dunk Low White Black colorway and the Nike Dunk Low University Red colorway.
